Two men were arrested in Piddinghoe after swift police response to a burglary in Brighton.
At 12.50am on Friday January 17 a house in Roedean Crescent, Brighton, was entered and valuable antiques, together with some fine wines, champagne and cigars, were taken.
The thieves also stole a Maserati Granturismo sports car parked on the drive.
About 10 minutes later the Maserati collided with two parked cars in Lewes Road, Newhaven, and was abandoned there.
Patrolling officers searched the area, went to an address in nearby Piddinghoe shortly aftterwards and arrested two men.
Some items from the burglary were found there.
Two men, a 23-year old from Putney, South-West London, and a 29-year old of no fixed address, arrested on suspicion of burglary, are currently in custody for interview and further enquiries.
