Police appeal after burglaries in Hassocks/Ditchling area

Police are appealing for information about a series of burglaries at homes in the Hassocks and Ditchling areas.

Since the middle of July up to September 11 there have been 13 burglaries of houses, many of which are detached properties in that area around the B2166 road in Hassocks and crossing into Ditchling.

Detective Sergeant Andy Harbour said: “These burglaries are happening during the daytime and they are stealing mainly jewellery and electrical items. They are breaking through windows and doors.

“We are appealing for anyone who knows anything about these to come forward. If you see anyone or any vehicles acting suspiciously in these areas, phone Sussex Police on 999. We have increased patrols of uniformed and plain clothes officers in the area.

“We are advising residents to secure their properties and set their house alarms if they have them.”
