Police appeal after cyclist attacked by three men

Police are appealing for witness to an attack on a 47-year-old man who was cycling in Chapel Road, Worthing.

According to police, the attack occurred at 8.15pm on Monday, February 27.

Police said the victim was dragged to the ground and punched and kicked several times, sustaining cuts to his hands and knees and lumps on his head, which required hospital treatment.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “His wallet and mobile phone were stolen during the attack and have not yet been recovered.

“The attackers were three men all wearing dark clothing.

“Two men, aged 41 and 24, both from Worthing, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and after being interviewed were released on bail until April 3 while police continue enquiries.”
