Police appeal after homophobic abuse towards staff in Waitrose

Sussex Police has released CCTV after a shopworker was subject to homophobic abuse in Waitrose in Brighton.

Police said a man was abusive and aggressive towards a staff member at Waitrose in Western Road at around 8.20am on Saturday, December 8.

Officers investigating the incident said they believe the person in the images could assist with their enquiries.

Investigating officer PC Andy Misrahi said: “Any form of discriminatory abuse will never be tolerated.

“We are doing everything we can to locate the person involved and believe this man can help us deal with this matter effectively.”
