Police appeal after teenage girl ‘seen running away’ from man in Chichester

A police appeal has been launched a week after a teenage girl appeared to be running away from a man in a car in Chichester.

According to Sussex Police, officers are trying to find members of the public ‘who witnessed a woman running across a road in Chichester’ at 5.50pm last Friday (January 24).

A spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a woman getting out of a stationary car and running across Stockbridge Road, near to its junction with Terminus Road. It appeared as if she was being chased by a man, who had also been in the car. 

“The woman is described as black, 17-18 years old, approximately 5ft 2, of slim build and with slightly curly black hair tied up on the top of her head. She is said to have been heading towards the canal.

“Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the woman, or who may have dash cam footage of her, to get in touch either online or by calling 101 quoting serial 1098 of 24/01.”
