Police say they are investigating a report of an assault on a boy outside a supermarket in Brighton and have appealed for witnesses and information to come forward.

Sussex Police said the incident happened outside Morrison’s in St James’s Street at about 7.15pm on June 5. Police added that a seven-year-old boy was walking with his family leaving the store.

Sussex Police added that ‘as he walked, he was pushed over by a man walking in the other direction, causing him to fall backwards.’ Officers are investigating and want any pedestrians or witnesses in the area who saw what happened to come forward.
