Police appeal for witnesses to East Grinstead poppy tin thefts

Police want to speak to this man captured on CCTV after a poppy appeal charity tin was stolen from the counter of a petrol station in East Grinstead.

The tin was taken from the BP Connect garage in London Road on Thursday November at 5.36am by a man who ran in and grabbed it.

He is described as white and was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and black trainers with a white patch on them.

A poppy appeal charity box was also stolen from the Esso Service Station in Station Road, East Grinstead, on Friday 1 November at 4.52am by a man who ran in and took it from the counter.

PC Amy Hayward said: “We would like to speak to the man captured on CCTV or hear from anyone who has any information about the thefts.”
