On the morning of Tuesday, April 14, the man helped officers as they dealt with an aggressive man on Hove seafront.
But over a week later, they are now concerned for his wellbeing.
A spokesman said: "We’re thankful for his help and would like to ensure his welfare – please contact us on 101, quoting serial 337 of 14/04, if you can help."
