It is believed the windows were smashed in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

No thefts were reported.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team are investigating the incidents and would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who has any relevant CCTV or doorbell-type footage that could help their enquiries.

Officers are also continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward following a spate of vehicle-related crime across the town overnight between Sunday 21 and Monday 22 March.

Police received multiple reports of car windows being smashed and, in some cases, there were thefts from the vehicles, in a large area spanning the Nevill Estate, town centre and Pells Pool area – read more here.

Sergeant Amy Mason of the Lewes Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We are linking the two spates of vehicle crime in the town, and are appealing for the public’s assistance to help find the perpetrators.

“We have made extensive house-to-house enquiries in those areas affected on the 21-22 March to seek witnesses and relevant CCTV or doorbell footage, but none have been forthcoming yet.

“Other lines of enquiries and potentially linked reports have also been investigated.

“We are very keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any of these incidents, in either March or April, or who has relevant CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell footage to come forward.

“Patrols are taking place in the areas during relevant times.

“As always, we would advise people to avoid leaving valuables in their car and, where applicable, to follow other advice to help prevent vehicle crime.”
