As a result of information provided to police, including the name of a dog which was thought possibly involved, enquiries have now shown that the dog and the owner of that dog were not involved in the incident.

Sgt Trevis from Horsham Police Station said: “We have been able to speak to the owner of a Rottweiler dog which is called Summer and lives locally. There is no doubt that neither Summer or her owner were involved in this incident and can be discounted from further investigation.

“Enquiries are however ongoing and we wish to renew our appeal for witnesses or information regarding the owner of the Rottweiler dog involved.

“The owner is described as being female about 5ft 5 inches tall, white, slim with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing sunglasses at the time and was in the company of three young children one of which was in a push chair.”

Any information should be passed to Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial number 0441 of 14/04/14. People can also call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555111.
