A motorist was threatened with a metal object in a case of road rage at Kingston on June 12.

The driver of a black Nissan Navaro parked his car at traffic calming measures close to The Juggs pub in Ashcombe Lane and blocked the road.

The driver of the car following it, a grey Volkswagen Golf, was forced to stop behind the Nissan and the 32-year-old told police officers he was confronted by a man who shouted at him and kicked his car.

He said the man then went to the Nissan, collected a metal item and returned to the Volkswagen where he threatened the victim with the weapon.

It is believed the incident began on the C7 at Northease at around 11am when the Nissan pulled onto the road behind the Volkswagen.

The Nissan travelled north behind the Volkswagen for a distance before accelerating past it, west onto Wellgreen Lane and then into Ashcombe Lane.

PC James Bunkin, of Lewes Neighbourhood Response Team, said: “We’re keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the Nissan or the Volkswagen as they travelled on the C7, Wellgreen Lane or Ashcombe Lane or the confrontation that occurred.

“We believe other motorists were held up when the road was blocked and may have seen what happened.”
