Police seize 130 cannabis plants in Petworth

Nearly 130 cannabis plants have been seized by police from a stable yard between Petworth and Wisborough Green.

According to police, officers attended the property on the A272 at around 6pm on Saturday, February 18, in response to anonymous information from a member of the public.

Chichester police found the plants in two metal shipping containers on the site, in various stages of growth, police said.

Sussex Police have confirmed a 35-year-old local will be interviewed under caution at a police station later this month as police enquiries continue.

PC Paul Quinnell of Chichester police said: “We welcome any information about illegal drugs and will always take positive action to disrupt criminality.

“Anyone able to pass on details of suspicious activity or people can do so by emailing [email protected] or phoning 101. Alternatively, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
