Police warning after sheep butchered in Sussex field

Police have warned Sussex residents to avoid buying cheap lamb after a sheep was butchered in a field near Sheffield Park, Uckfield.

The Sussex Police Rural Crime Team said it received a report about the incident on Friday (February 12).

As a result, police warned people not to buy cheap, suspicious lamb or mutton if they are offered it.

In a tweet, police said: “Yesterday the team investigated a report of a sheep being butchered in a field near Sheffield Park for its meat.

“If you are offered cheap, suspicious lamb or mutton for sale please don’t buy it.”
