Police warning after sheep butchered near Sheffield Park

Police have issued a warning to residents after a sheep was butchered in a field near Sheffield Park, Uckfield.

The Sussex Police Rural Crime Team said it received a report about the incident on Friday (February 12).

As a result, police warned people not to buy cheap, suspicious lamb or mutton if they are offered it.

If you have any information about the incident, please report it to police by quoting 0928 of 12/2/21.

In a tweet, police said: “Yesterday the team investigated a report of a sheep being butchered in a field near Sheffield Park for its meat.

“If you are offered cheap, suspicious lamb or mutton for sale please don’t buy it.”
