Police warning after spate of shed raids in Lewes area

Lewes District Police have reported a spate of thefts from sheds and workshops in recent days.

Tools were stolen in a break-in to a workshop in Resting Oak Hill, Cooksbridge, while a Carrera men’s road bike with a distinctive bright yellow frame was stolen from a shed in Church Road, Barcombe.

A Hayter Harrier lawnmower was taken from a shed in Trevor Gardens, Glynde, while tools and diagnostic equipment were removed from a workshop unit at Sheffield Park Industrial.

Police advised residents to fit appropriate locks and alarms and, where possible, to consider installing outdoor security lights to illuminate and deter thieves.
