Five protesters from London and Oxford unveiled a banner outside the Hurst Road court, targeting the security company at the centre of the case.

David Landau, one of those protesting, said: “We are here to show support to our comrades, and we hope they will be found not guilty of trespassing at the G4S headquarters.’’

Shiar Youssef and Chris Osmond are charged with aggravated trespass. Both have pleaded not guilty.

The charges relate to an occupation of the roof of G4S’ Crawley headquarters on July 2 last year in a protest over the death of Jimmy Mubenga in 2010.

The case continues into next week.
