Rustington man’s horror during daylight robbery

DETECTIVES are searching for a robber who stole more than £2,000 from a man in Rustington.

The 38-year-old Rustington man withdrew the money from the HSBC bank, in the village, at about 11am, on Monday, October 24.

He then began to walk south down Broadmark Lane, on his way home.

About half way along he was grabbed from behind and punched by a man who took his wallet containing the cash, leaving the victim “shaken and upset”, police have said.

Officers believe the suspect fled the scene and ran back towards Rustington.

He is described as being of Asian appearance, aged between 20 and 30, and of muscular build. He had black messy hair and was wearing a black leather jacket.
