Spate of burglaries across district

Police are urging residents to be vigilant after a spate of burglaries in Partridge Green, Henfield, Shermanbury and Cowfold dating back to March.

On May 10, two further burglaries were reported to the police as well of reports of a suspicious male in the Partridge Green area.

Police stopped a vehicle in the High Street and a 26-year-old man from Shermanbury and a man aged 26 and a woman aged 33 - both from Henfield - were arrested on suspicion of burglary and later bailed until May 28.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “Enquiries are now ongoing and anyone with any information is urged to come forward and contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting reference 0623 10/05/12 or to contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“Please can we ask all residents in these areas to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity on 999.”
