St Leonards man charged after stabbing in Hastings town centre

A man from St Leonards has been charged after a woman was stabbed in Hastings earlier this week.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing outside Crowley’s Bar in Havelock Road, Hastings, at about 10.15pm on Monday (October 26).

A 20-year-old woman was found with a minor laceration to her stomach and was taken to hospital, police said.

She was treated and later released, police added.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man and a 39-year-old man on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm.

On Friday (October 30), Sussex Police said: “Sam Secord, 28, unemployed, of Chapel Park Road, St Leonards, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

“He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 30. He was released on conditional bail to next appear before Lewes Crown Court on November 27.

“A 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a Class B drug, affray, possession of a knife in a public place and two counts of common assault has been released on conditional bail until November 23 while enquiries continue.”
