Staff challenge Storrington thieves

Two women entered King and Chasemore on Saturday March 31 to ask about lettings.

However, as staff were distracted mobile phones were snatched from a desk.

When employees noticed the phones had gone they challenged the women who placed their bags on top of the desk to reveal the items.

The thieves then made off along the High Street towards Tesco Express, say Horsham police.

A spokesperson said: “Police are asking members of the public and store owners to take note of the description of the females and report if they are seen or attempt a similar incident.

“Both female of possibly Asian appearance, both approximately 5’5” in height, both described as in their 40’s, one of thin build, wearing a floaty skirt and shawl, the other of a larger build, black hair, wearing an Indian dark coloured shawl covering her head and also a floaty skirt.

“Both females did not have a good understanding of the English language.”
