Fifty wraps of suspected Class A drugs have been recovered after a car crashed with a bin lorry in Crawley.

At midday today, January 21, police said they were called to a car behaving suspiciously in Jewel Walk.

A spokesman added: “The vehicle failed to stop for police and shortly thereafter collided with a nearby bin lorry in Patrington Close.

“The occupants made off on foot and enquiries are ongoing to locate them.”

About 50 wraps of substances suspected to be Class A drugs were discarded during the foot chase, said police.

The spokesman said: “A minor injury to one of the dustcart crew has been reported.

“This incident is currently ongoing and no further information is available.”
