Suspected drug driver arrested outside Selsey

A suspected drug driver was arrested outside Selsey on Thursday morning (September 3).

According to Sussex Roads Police officer Tom Van Der Wee, a driver was stopped shortly after 10am for a road traffic offence on the B2145 southbound heading into Selsey.

PC Van Der Wee said: "We suspected the driver may have been under the influence of drugs and carried out a roadside drugwipe which confirmed our suspicion resulting in his arrest.

"He provided a specimen of blood at custody and has been released under investigation pending the result of the forensic examination of his blood.

"If he is found to be over the specified limit for drugs then he will face a mandatory disqualification and up to six months imprisonment."
