Sussex Police investigate spate of burglaries in Ditchling and Hassocks

Police are appealing for information about a series of burglaries at homes in the Ditchling and Hassocks areas.

Since the middle of July up to September 11 there have been 13 burglaries, many at detached properties around the B2166 road.

Detective Sergeant Andy Harbour said: “These burglaries are happening during the daytime and they are stealing mainly jewellery and electrical items. They are breaking through windows and doors.

“If you see anyone or any vehicles acting suspiciously, phone Sussex Police on 999. We have increased patrols of uniformed and plain clothes officers in the area. We are advising residents to secure their properties and set their house alarms if they have them.”
