Teenage boy left with serious facial injuries after hit-and-run collision in Bexhill

A 16-year-old moped rider suffered serious injuries after a hit-and-run collision in Bexhill last night (Friday, May 22), according to Sussex Police.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a red Mini, with a white roof, collided with a moped in Woodsgate Park at about 7.40pm.

The car driver left the scene without stopping, police said.

A spokesperson added: "The moped rider — a 16-year-old boy from Bexhill — sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"It is thought that the Mini will have sustained significant damage.

"Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward."

Police are 'particularly keen' to speak to the driver of a blue van, who was nearby but not involved in the crash, and may have seen what happened.
