The boys – aged between 13 to 17 – have been summonsed for offences including assault by beating, possession of an offensive weapon in public, and use of threatening behaviour and language with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence, said Sussex Police.

It comes after police were called to an altercation in the town’s High Street at 8.40pm on July 30 this year.

Officers attended the scene but the group had dispersed, police said.

They are all due to appear before Hastings Youth Court on January 25, 2021.
