Teenager ‘recovering’ after Burgess Hill assault

A 15-year-old boy from London, who was badly assaulted in Burgess Hill on Wednesday (August 8) is now conscious and stable and remains at the Royal Sussex County Hospital receiving treatment.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Pink, who is leading the investigation, said: “The boys family have now been contacted and we are pleased that he has made some steps towards recovery.

“I would like to appeal again to anyone who was in the Queens Crescent and Station Road area and witnessed the attack or saw or heard any suspicious activity prior to the incident and has not yet contacted us to please get in touch.

A 20-year-old man from Dartford and a 28-year-old man from Haywards Heath, who were arrested near to the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm have been bailed until September 14 pending further enquiries.
