Teenager seriously injured in St Leonards stabbing

A teenager has been seriously injured in a suspected stabbing in St Leonards, according to police.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene in St Margaret’s Road at 9.30pm on Wednesday (April 22).

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital by road with serious injuries.

A 58-year-old man from St Leonards-on-Sea was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He had suffered a head injury, not believed to be serious, and was taken to hospital, where he remained under arrest on Wednesday evening.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to report online or call 101 quoting Operation Nevada."
