Teenagers attempt to rob woman in Burgess Hill

Police are seeking four teenagers who tried to rob a woman of her handbag in Burgess Hill.

At about 7.25pm on Friday December 20 the 42-year old woman was walking along Royal George Road, Burgess Hill when she was approached by four men all described as white and about 18 years old.

One of them is described as having very short dark hair, wearing a hooded top, Chelsea blue in colour, with white pull strings for the hood, and blue jeans.

The men attempted to steal the victim’s handbag by trying to pull it from her shoulder, and then punched her in the face. But they failed, and fled.

The woman, who was very shaken and upset, sustained cuts and bruises to her face but did not require hospital treatment.
