Thief strikes as van waits at level crossing
A drill and a metal detector were stolen from the back of a van while it waited at a level crossing in Shoreham-by-Sea.
An opportunist thief struck at 6.45am on Thursday last week (August 2) when the white Ford Transit van was at the level crossing in Eastern Avenue.
The driver was unaware the theft had taken place until he started to drive away and saw that the van’s back doors were not secure. The missing items are a green Bosch cordless power drill and a Bosch metal detector. It is believed that the thief entered the rear of the van when it was stationary at the level crossing.
