Thieves take £40,000 of fuel from Crawley business

Police are appealing for information after £40,000 worth of fuel was stolen from a Crawley business.

At 5.45pm on Thursday 10 December officers received a report of fuel theft from a business in Corpthorne Road, police said.

A spokesman added: “Over two separate occasions, thieves had taken 30,000 litres of fuel at an estimated value of £40,000.

“The offences were thought to have taken place at approximately 1am on 6 December and 4am on 7 December.”

Officers attended the scene and conducted forensic searches of the surrounding area as well as high-visibility patrols, said police.

The spokesman added: “Given the large quantity of fuel taken, it is likely that a large vehicle would have been involved and anyone who saw anything suspicious is asked to contact us online at https://www.sussex.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/us/contact-us/provide-more-information-to-be-added-to-a-crime-report/ or by calling 101 quoting serial 1036 of 10/12.”
