THREE people have been arrested after a pizza delivery man was robbed and another suffered an attempted robbery in Peacehaven on Sunday evening.

Two telephone orders were made on Sunday to two separate fast food delivery restaurants in the Peacehaven area for delivery to Anson House, Trafalgar Close.

When one delivery driver arrived at 8.45pm he entered the communal area of the flats and was approached by two men, who held a small dull silver pistol to his head and demanded cash.

He handed over his mobile phone, a white Iphone 4s, and a small quantity of loose change.

The robbers also took the food before running off in the direction of Collingwood Close.

A few moments later the second driver arrived. He was approached before getting to the address and taken into an underpass which leads from Trafalgar Close into Collingwood Close.

Money was again demanded from the driver, however he managed to struggle free and run from the area shouting for help. The robbers made off.

Police executed two search warrants with the support of armed police officers.

Two men in their 20s and a 17-year-old girl were arrested for robbery and were released on bail until November 7 for further enquiries.

DS Dave Tritton said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the unsuspecting men going about their daily business.

“We take matters involving firearms very seriously and would urge anyone with information to contact police on 101 quoting serial 1750 of 9 September or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
