Three teenagers arrested after ‘aggravated burglary’ in Newhaven

Armed police swooped on a property in Newhaven after reports of an aggravated burglary.

Officers attended the address in Gibbon Road, Newhaven, shortly after 6am on Friday (April 24).

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Officers attended and a man in his 20s was discovered with minor facial injuries.

“He was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment.”

Following enquiries, three people were arrested over the weekend in connection with the incident.

A police spokesman said: “A 19-year-old man from Newhaven, arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, has been released on conditional bail until May 21, while enquiries continue.

“A 16-year-old boy of no fixed address, arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, possession of a Class A drug and possession of a Class B drug, has been released on conditional bail until May 22, while enquiries continue.

“A 19-year-old man from Newhaven, arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, possession of a Class A drug and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, has been released on conditional bail until May 21.”
