Travellers set up another camp in Chichester

Two traveller camps have been set up in Chichester this week.

Caravans were seen at Oaklands Park on Monday (April 19).

Chichester District Council confirmed the travellers left the site early yesterday evening (Thursday) after they had been served a legal notice.

A group of travellers have since been pictured at Florence Park.

Council officers have undertaken joint visits, at both parks, with partners in Sussex Police 'to ensure that the area is kept tidy'.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: "Police were made aware of a group of travellers arriving at park in Florence Road, Chichester, on Thursday.

"Officers attended and engaged with the group and are in liaison with the West Sussex County Council traveller team."
