Two arrested after man ‘found with stab wound’ in East Preston

Two people have been arrested after a man discovered injured in East Preston on Sunday evening.

Police confirmed officers were called at 9.45pm after a man was found with a stab wound in Vermont Drive.

He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where he remains in a serious but stable condition, police said.

It is thought the assault happened in nearby Beechlands Close.

Officers attended the scene and after carrying out fast-time enquiries, arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, confirmed police.

They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “People can expect to see a continued and increased police presence in the area while the investigation is ongoing.

“Officers will be carrying out regular patrols in the vicinity to provide reassurance to the community.
