Sussex Police said officers responded to reports of a robbery in Keymer Road, Keymer, Hassocks, at just after 3pm on Thursday, February 27.

A spokesman said: “A young man was approached by two other young men who threatened the victim with a knife and demanded he handed over his personal belongings.

“The victim ran off unharmed but his electric cigarette was reported as stolen.

“Officers conducted an area search and detained two people.

“An 18-year-old man from Hurstpierpoint was arrested on suspicion of robbery, possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place and possession of a class B drug.

“A 16-year-old boy from Burgess Hill was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a class B drug.

“Both have been released under investigation while enquiries are ongoing.”
