Valuables stolen in Billingshurst burglary

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said between Friday December 5 and Monday December 8 the property, in Kingsfold Close, was broken into and a large quantity of jewellery and silverware was stolen, together with an Apple Imac mini and some Jane Austen figurines.

The property stolen includes:

- a silver salver engraved “Presented to W F Herbert by the Dept for Education in Berkshire”

- a shell shaped George III caddy spoon - London 1811

- silver napkin rings, a lidded pot, coffee spoons, teaspoons

- a silver Accurist LB642 watch

- a Jane Austen limited edition figurine set of four - Elizabeth Bennett, Jane Bennett, Elinor Dashwood, and Anne Elliot.

- a Mac Mini 2.3/2X1GB/500/AP/BT-USA - model number A1347 - a US version and very unusual in the UK.

An overall value for the items has not been established but is believed to be in the region of several thousand pounds.

Detective constable Oliver Summers, of the West Sussex Priority Crime Team, said: “Did you see anybody suspicious in this quiet cul-de-sac over that weekend?

“Did you see any unfamiliar cars or people waiting in cars nearby?

“Has someone offered any of these items for sale? In particular, have you seen the silverware or figurines in any auction houses or online auctions?”
