Van crash linked to Selsey supermarket break-in

A van, which was found abandoned on its side in Selsey, has been linked by police to a break-in at Asda in Selsey.

Sussex Police said officers were called to a break-in at a supermarket in Wave Approach, Chichester, at 4.10am on Wednesday (May 12)

"Two men entered the store with, what was believed to be crowbars, but nothing has been reported as stolen," a spokesperson said.

"The men were captured leaving the location in a white van, which officers located abandoned a short time afterwards on the B2145 in Selsey."

Police confirmed its response to reports of a single-vehicle collision at 4.30am.

An unoccupied van was found on its side and no injuries were reported.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour, or has information to assist the police investigation, is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 138 of 12/05.
