Wanted man caught in Lancing is named

THE man arrested by police in Lancing yesterday afternoon April 9 has been named as Liam Newman, 29, of no fixed address.

Today, April 10, he was charged with two counts of robbery, two of possessing a firearm while committing robbery, two of making off without payment and one of theft from a shop, all allegedly committed between March 5 and March 14 in the Lancing, Worthing and Shoreham area.

Newman is currently in police custody and is expected to appear before Brighton magistrates tomorrow, April 11, for remand.

A co-defendant, Matthew Raymond Johnson, 23, of Stoney Lane, Shoreham, was charged with identical offences on March 20 and remanded in custody by Crawley magistrates.
