But for one person in Sussex it all got a bit too much and he decided to go to prison in a bid to get a change of scene.

A wanted man rang officers at Burgess Hill police station to hand himself in because he was so fed up of spending time with the people he lived with, Inspector Darren Taylor said.

Inspector Taylor said: “[The man] rang us and said he was going to hand himself in a Burgess Hill police station and that he had broken his tag off.”

The male had decided to hand himself in due to issues with the people he was living with, Inspector Taylor said.

He added: “[The man said] he would rather go back to prison then have to spend more time with the people he was living with!

“One in custody and heading back to prison to serve some further time on his own.”
