Warning about using unsafe tattooists in Arun
POLICE have warned people considering having a tattoo done to use a reputable licensed tattooist.
There has been some concern from the public over unlicensed and individual tattooists operating in unsafe conditions in the Arun district.
PC Stephanie Macdonald-Smith said: “We would encourage anyone who is over 18 and considering getting a tattoo to use a reputable licensed tattooist and to ensure that they feel confident that necessary safety measures are in place to maintain hygiene and avoid any potential risks, such as infection allergies and scarring.
“Anyone who is concerned or has information should contact their local council as they are responsible for licensing of tattooists or police on 101.”
