A house in Eastbourne was raided by armed police following reports of a wanted man in possession of a firearm.

Officers from Sussex Police searched the house in Norway Road on Sunday afternoon (May 3), but neither the wanted man nor suspected firearms were found at the property or in a vehicle outside the home.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said, “Following a report of a wanted man in possession of a firearm, police conducted a search of a house and a vehicle in Norway Road on Sunday.

“The man purported to be inside the address was not present, and no firearm was located.

“One of the occupants was arrested for an unrelated matter. He received a caution for vehicle interference, relating to an incident in Hastings in December.”
