Wayne Adams, 29, was made redundant from the Windmill Road complex in September last year after it got into financial difficulties.

The married father of one, of Carlingford Court, Bognor Regis, had been employed to carry out tests on equipment and inventories at the centre and took the news of losing his job badly.

In February this year another member of staff at the centre was looking on Ebay where he saw a rare audio speaker for sale by Adams, a Martin Audio valued at £150, was missing. Also missing from the centre was a JBL speaker worth £500 which was also found on Ebay.

Worthing Magistrates Court heard on Tuesday (May 27) that Adams had tried to sell the speakers because he needed the money. Police located both at his home and he made a full admission after being arrested earlier this year.

Due to his previous good character and the fact that he has now sought employment at Steyning Grammar School, Adams was only ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
