Witnesses sought to Crawley fight

Witnesses are being sought by police to a fight that occurred on Peglar Way, Crawley at 7.30pm on Friday (July 27).

Two men were seen to be stood on the pavement by the traffic lights at the side of the road next to Ifield Road on Peglar Way when a small silver car stopped in the right hand lane at the lights.

A man got out of the vehicle and became involved in an altercation with the two men.

A number of men and a woman then became involved in the incident, which lasted for approximately five minutes.

PC Jacqui Thornton said: “This was a incident involving a group of people fighting in the early evening in a public place and I am appealing for witnesses to come forward so that I can piece together what happened and identify those people involved. If you have any information about this incident or witnessed it then please contact me.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 quoting serial 1772 of 27/7. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Two men aged 27 and 25, from Crawley, were arrested on suspicion of affray. They were questioned and bailed until September 3.
