Woman charged over drink-driving in Rye

Juliet Robinson-Ovens, a government employee of Central Hill in London, was arrested in Hilltop Drive.

The 42-year-old was charged with having 65mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system, and being drunk in public in charge of a child under seven.

She is due to appear before Hastings Magistrates’ Court on December 23.

Paul Flint, of Coronation Cottages, Robertsbridge, was arrested in Salehurst on Sunday (December 6) and charged with having 105mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

The unemployed 39-year-old is due to appear before Hastings Magistrates’ Court on January 6.

The pair are two of 22 people to be charged as part of Operation Dragonfly, the Christmas crackdown on drink and drug-drivers.

A total of 45 drivers have been arrested in Sussex since the campaign, run jointly by Surrey and Sussex Police, launched on Tuesday, December 1.

Other drivers to be charged in 1066 country include Michael Cutler, of Milward Road, Hastings, and Michelle Giles, of Etchingham Drive, St Leonards.

Cutler, 46, was arrested in Old London Road, Hastings, on Thursday (December 3) and charged with having 61mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

The unemployed man is due to appear before Hastings Magistrates’ Court on December 17.

Giles, 43, was arrested in Church Wood Drive, St Leonards, on Friday and charged with having 62mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.

The administration employee is due to appear before Hastings Magistrates’ Court on December 23.
