In a monthly report by chief inspector Howard Hodges, Horsham district commander, it is described how several workmen were approached by a man while they were cleaning a platform at Littlehaven railway crossing.

The incident took place some time in February.

CI Hodges said: “Whilst several workmen were cleaning the old platform at Littlehaven Railway Crossing, they were approached by a man wanting to cross the closed road.

“The man became argumentative and was led away by workmen, only to return within the closed zone holding two knifes out in front of him and running at several rail workers.

“The workmen managed to disarm and detain the man before calling police. The offender was arrested and recalled to prison for breach of his bail for this incident.”
