Youngsters hurling rocks off cliff onto Eastbourne beach

Rocks were thrown from an Eastbourne cliff last week – although police say there is no evidence to suggest they were aimed at people.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said, Police were called at 8.50pm on Wednesday (April 14) to a report of anti-social behaviour at the cliffs near Holywell, in Eastbourne.

“It was reported two young people were throwing stones off the cliff edge.

“Police Community Support Officers attended to carry out an area search for the young people but with no trace. “PCSOs regular patrol the area, both on foot and in vehicles, and encourage members of the public to report any incidents like this to police.

“This can be done either online or by calling 101 – always dial 999 in an emergency.”
