Your chance to have a say on crime and safety

A special survey is giving West Sussex residents a chance to have their say on how they feel about crime and their safety in their own community.

The Police, local authorities, the Health Service, the Probation Service and the Fire & Rescue Service, as well as local voluntary and community groups, work in partnership to reduce crime and disorder to make residents feel safer.

The survey has been designed in consultation with partner organisations and is being widely promoted. The responses will be used to improve customer satisfaction with West Sussex services. It will also assist the West Sussex Strategic Community Safety Partnership to identify priorities and prepare for the introduction of the new Police and Crime Commissioner who will be publicly elected in November this year.

Christine Field, West Sussex Cabinet Member for Public Protection, said, “I hope as many people as possible will complete the survey.

“We want to hear the voices of local people, to use their knowledge and concerns to help shape our priorities to address crime and community safety with our partners across West Sussex.”

The survey is available until 31 July 2012 and will take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. It can be completed on-line or downloaded by visiting: www.westsussex.gov.uk/crimeandcommunitysafetysurvey
