Crowborough fire fighters scale Three Peaks for charity

FIREFIGHTERS learn how to climb dangerous buildings as part of their training.

So it shouldn’t be too much of a hard slog for eight crew members from Crowborough Fire Station who will be pitting their muscles against the highest mountains in Britain to raise money for charity.

Eight firefighters are taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge on June 23-24 this year. They have to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon against the clock within the time limit of 24 hours.

This team is aiming to achieve platinum time by completing the challenge in under 17.5 hours – including travelling time.

They will be raising money to be split equally between The Firefighters Charity and Herne Junior School, Crowborough. The team has set up a Justgiving page at:
