Office assistant Zoe Britton, 39, and paediatric nurse Tracy Taylor, 44, took part in the all out swim event at Pells Pool in Lewes last Saturday (September 17).

The women, whose children attend Ashdown Primary School, each took on the five-kilometre to raise funds for Macmillan cancer support.

Zoe said: "We've been training as much as we can - usually late at night or early morning - since May. We have been training for three sessions a week at the Crowborough leisure centre and also walking and running to get extra fitness. "Tracy completed the two-kilometre swim a few years back but I have never done anything like this before."Tracy is swimming in aid of loved ones who sadly lost their battle to cancer and have received the amazing support from Macmillan."I on the other hand am a cancer survivor after being diagnosed with cervical cancer 11 years ago, I now feel I have the strength and determination to be able to pay back the support I was given through such a incredibly difficult time in my life ."
