Crowds of people turned out on Saturday (February 23) to pay their respects to the well-loved former councillor Beryl Healy with the planting of a memorial tree.

The tree, paid for by public donations, was planted on Seaside Recreation Ground.

Beryl, who died in 2015, was a much-loved and respected campaigner, councillor on the Eastbourne Borough Council and East Sussex County Council, past mayor and leader of EBC, and alderman. Outside of politics, she had been a nursing sister and worked with the Eastbourne Samaritans. Photos by Jon Rigby.
